I finally gave up on mine and got an iPod nano 16GB model. I found iTunes to be very close to what I was used to with Creative Explorer, and works well on both my XP PC and my Win7 laptop.

Hi, Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community. Maybe it's unable to automatically sync CZ Mp3 player with Windows Media Player.
I would suggest you try the following steps and see if it helps. Kindly make sure your device is connected while performing these steps. Method 1: Sync Media player with your device. Press Windows key and type Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab on the upper-right corner of the Window. Click on the Sync Options icon and then click on Set up sync. In the device setup box, check the box for Sync this device automatically.
Method 2: Run Hardware and Devices Troubleshooter, also run Windows Media Player Settings troubleshooter 1. Press Windows key + X and click on Control Panel. Change View by from Category to Large Icons/Small Icons. Click on Troubleshooting and then select View all. Select Hardware and Devices, and follow the on-screen instructions. Once troubleshooting is complete, click on Windows Media Player Settings. Follow the on-screen instructions.
Hope this helps. Please respond if you have further related queries. Regards, Jesinta Rozario. I've tried both suggestions and neither works.
Hi, I'm not sure if anyone has managed to solve this or if anyone's even interested in the thread anymore, but recently I had the same problem and it seems to be a driver issue with the Zen. I resolved the issue by downloading a driver updater called Drivermax. It's free and can be downloaded here: Once the program has been installed, connect the Zen up to the computer. Search for Device Manager in the Control Panel and under 'Portable devices' right-click on Zen sleek and press 'uninstall device'. On the newly installed Drivermax, click scan.
It should take a few minutes but once finished, there should be an 'update detected' message for 'Creative Zen sleek'. Click update. Once finished, unplug the Zen and reboot the computer. When you plug the Zen in again, the computer should reinstall the Creative software with the driver update now included and you should have a 'docked' Zen.
Best of luck.
